The Mutual Aid Working Group needs your help!

One the last Saturday of every month we gather together to buy bulk purchases of food and supplies to distribute to community pantries. By pooling our money and efforts, we can stretch money a long way. With a monthly budget of ~$250, we can supply 9 community pantries across Vancouver and Burnaby with fresh vegetables, non-perishable staples, hygiene products, and more.

To pull this off every month, we need money and help.

If you're able to contribute, a donation to the Solidarity Fridge Stock PayPal will make sure that we can purchase food and supplies each month. If you can commit to a monthly recurring donation, that will help us plan for the long-term.

We'd also love to have you join us to help with distribution. We meet at noon, the last Saturday of every month at 1890 Spyglass Place, under the Cambie Bridge by the Olympic Village skytrain station.

Over the last year, we have been building up a community of people who can plan and execute mutual aid efforts as needed. We are currently working on our expanding our capacity to provide hot meals and to coordinate with local gardeners to produce our own supply of food. Our goal is to connect people and provide aid where needed in a way that is free, safe, non-policed, and accessible to all.

The DSoV Fridge Stock/Mutual Aid Working Group just celebrated its One-Year anniversary in October!

Community Fridges are decentralized food distribution networks and mutual aid initiatives created to provide healthy, free food and essential supplies to our communities across the lower mainland.

Their mission is to combat food insecurity by encouraging communities to take part in laterally-directed mutual aid, starting with providing free, safe, non-policed, accessible and nutritious foods through community fridges and pantries.
