A successful seedling party 🌱
We would like to give thanks to all who were able to join us on March 31st, for our seedling party! It was a beautiful and sunny Sunday afternoon and we really enjoyed spending it with people jazzed about food security and socialism.
A big thanks to DSoV steering committee member, Yvonne Hanson, for leading the learning session. Many thanks to working group members for pulling together on a short notice, and, deepest gratitude to all the folks who provided their labour.
As some of you may know, our food growers group has 4 confirmed spaces and 2 more potential growing spaces, where all these seedlings will have a home. From chard and lettuce, to defender plants such as marigold, we started 12+ varieties of plants!
As we continue to identify new spaces, our need to include more people in our operations also grows. We are in the process of prepping our spaces and creating maintenance schedules, and continue our journey to incorporate as a community service cooperative.
